Real Madrid Tactics Are Important, Drive Is Paramount - Marcelo
Marcelo believes that Real Madrid's desire in matches is more important that than the tactical formation they play. Indeed, he has stated that the team's determination is what helped them in their last two games.
After defeats by Milan and Alcorcon, and points dropped at Sporting, Los Merengues beat Getafe last weekend and raised their game against the Rossoneri in Italy on Tuesday.
"Tactics are important, but drive is paramount. The team's spirit is very good. We know we must showcase drive in order to win every game we play," he was quoted as saying by the club's official website.
"We lacked focus at the start of some games. We've talked a lot about things and we've realised we won't be able to win if we don't showcase the spirit we've had in the last couple of games."
Marcelo has been pushed up to left midfield, though the Brazilian feels more comfortable at left-back.
"I was attacking and swapping positions with Kaka in the last game. I was closer to the goal when we attacked, but I wasn't following any specific strategy," he continued.
"The mere fact of playing for Real Madrid is enough to make me happy. I love to play in attack, but I'd rather be a left-back. Things may change in the future, but I prefer the left-back position for now."
